Classroom Guidelines
* Be prepared for class every day. This means bringing all needed materials including textbooks, paper, pencil, and homework. Check the board to see what is needed.
* Be in your seat when the bell rings and remain their until class has ended. Tardies include coming in, setting down your books, and leaving.
* Always be respectful of others in the classroom. Fighting and argueing are not    tolerated.
* If you have a question or need to get up, please raise your hand.
* Do not work on outside activities or other assignments during class time.
* Passes are written one at a time and in passbooks only. You also must sign the log sheet before leaving.
* No food or drink will be permitted in the class room. This includes bottled water.
* No cell phones are allowed in the room at any time.
* All school handbook rules apply.
Vocabulary Notebooks
Each day there will be a new word, definition, and example sentence on the board. You will need to copy down this information at the beginning of the period. It is your responsibility to remember to do this. Every 10 words, there will be review worksheets and a vocab quiz. Notebooks will be periodically collected and checked for a grade.

Grading
Your grade will consist of homework. projects, writing assignments, quizzes, and tests. Your grade is calculated based on total points earned. Grades are posted in the back of the room and are listed by your school ID number. It is your responsibility to check the printout. The grading scale is the same as in the school handbook

Classwork/Homework
Some assignments will need to be completed in class and others will have to be completed at home. Homework will be due at the beginning of the period. Late work will lose points for each day it is late. You will also have the opportunity to earn one homework pass for each term.

Missing Work
You may make up any missing work due to an excused absence, but it is your responsibility to check with me or in the absent folder for this work. Do this before or after class time. Failure to complete any assignment, quiz, or test in a timely manner may result in a zero.   Assignments left at home or in your locker will not be accepted for full credit.

Semester/Final Exams
You will take a semester and final exam unless you meet the exemption requirements. To be exempt, you need to have perfect attendance and a passing grade or have a gold card and an A.  An OGT exemption may apply for the final exam.
